Jean-François Guennec, who holds a Master’s Degree in business Intelligence and an Executive-MBA from ESSEC, started his career as an officer in the French army’s Special Forces, where he was attached to Military Intelligence.
His numerous operational missions took him to various theatres of operation in crisis and war zones, such as Cambodia, Bosnia, as well as Africa and the Middle-East. In 1996, he resigned from the Ministry of Defence and joined the Communications & Systems group as the Export Sales Manager for the defence department.
In 1998, he was appointed Marketing Director for the "Systems" Division of Thales Communications, before being appointed International Business Development Director of the "Systems/C4ISR" (Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) Division.
He then capitalized on this experience and joined the EADS Defense group in 2004 as the Vice President International Business Development with responsibility for the Middle East and Maghreb countries, before being recruited by the Lacroix Defense & Security group as the Senior Sales & International Development Director.
In 2007, he moved abroad to take up the position of Senior Sales and Marketing Director for the United Arab Emirates group Bin Jabr (2000 employees), based in Abu Dhabi; he held this position for 4 years before being appointed Vice President International Business Development for the Middle East for the Dubai-based Sagem Défense et Sécurité group.
In 2013, he founded Dune Development, a consultancy specialized in business development between Europe, the Middle East, Maghreb and Southeast Asia, that provides a full-range of advice and support, including commercial negotiations and follow-up services, intended in particular for SME’s but also the so-called mid-cap companies.
